Tonight was 30 minutes of one of the bonus workouts that comes with Supreme Warrior edition of Les Mills Combat called Warrior 2: Lower Body Lean Out. Now I've done P90X, P90X2, Insanity, Both Asylums, Body Beast, and TapouT XT, and I finally found a workout that almost made me throw up. I couldn't believe it. The intensity in this workout is meant to work everything from the waist done and makes you want to hurl.

Now when I first thought about Lower Body Lean Out, I immediately thought it would be another workout similar to Shock Plyo HIIT 2 and not much martial arts action. But as the workout was about to begin, I saw the crew wearing their gloves on so I'm just like fuck yes HERE WE GO! The beginning section of this workout starts you off by working the glutes by engaging in round house kicks and side kicks. For each time of kick, you do three kicks and bounce left to right for a couple seconds and then you do another three kicks. Eventually, you just plant one foot on the floor and balance as you just continuously keep doing round house kicks and this is the part that really burns the glutes. I felt like I was getting my kick as high as the lower chest level. Trying to get any higher just really hurts my inner thighs which is why I get motivated to want to get more flexible so that I can get my kicks higher than the top of my head. And when doing this repeated round house kick, it just made me think about Chun-Li from street fighter and it felt like someone was continuously pushing the kicking button. But I can assure you this part will help tone the glutes and strengthen them up.

Another neat section was a bit of Capoeira where you just ginga but it was more like switch plyo lunges. First you do four on one leg and then switch to the other leg. Eventually do go down to two on each leg and then just down to one. And you do this for about 2 - 3 rounds I believe which will probably be a good idea to take breaks on this one. Then lastly, the one section that just almost made me want to throw up was the running man sequence which is just what it sounds like. You do the running man but you bring the knee up high to visualize like your bringing your opponent's face to your knee for a knee strike. And you do this many many times for such a long time. This is something that works the core at such a fast pace which was why I just had that feeling to just throw up so I had to take breaks every now and then.

But wow, this was certain a fun workout that does indeed work out every muscle in your legs.
